Malaysia's sole pay-TV operator satellite platform, Astro, recently reached its landmark 1 millionth subscriber. The Astro satellite TV service is subscription-based and offers over 44 television channels in a combination of packages.
Seven years in the DTH satellite business, its management felt it was time to "to forge ahead to the next million by investing in its service, particularly in increasing the relevance of its programming and services to its vernacular audience".
