Watching TV on a 2-inch wide mobile screen may seem like an odd idea at first but mobile operators, such as Malaysia's DiGi, are optimistic that interest will snowball with the advent of the facility. Earlier this year, DiGi launched Mobile TV that allows its mobile users to access selected TV channels and programmes, view video clips, and trailers.
Subscribers must have a GPRS phone and subscribe to Mobile TV. The drawback is that even with GPRS, video streaming is still choppy. Third Generation (3G) handsets could well change that (please see previous story). And as 3G rolls out ...
