When Kalyana Shira Films decided to shoot an Indonesian television series Arisan The Series on film, it jolted the industry not so much for eschewing SD Beta, the going format of choice for shooting television series here, but rather the timing of the decision. At a time when the television--and even the filmmaking-community is torn between SD or the much-hyped HD format, cinematographer Ipung Rachmat Syaiful's insistence on using the Kodak Vision 200T 7274 for the entire series' shoot must be a well thought through, if incredibly gung ho, decision.
