To Thai people, Zoe Popham is known as a 'farang', which means 'foreigner' in the native Thai language. Yet if you saw her at her workplace in downtown Bangkok, mixing and socializing with friends and colleagues of various ethnicities, her 'farang' label--that alludes to being an 'outsider' quickly wears off.
Born and raised in England, the Londoner initially felt disorientated when she arrived in Thailand in the year 2000; entering the TV industry just as the country's reputation for quality production was being recognized. Starting out at a local production house, Zoe soon rose to become Soho Asia Post's Senior Producer, before recently taking on the role of Business Manager at InFocus Asia.
