In late 2001, Mole-Richardson (www.mole.com) came out with a new line of inexpensive HMI (Hydrargyrum Medium arc Iodide) lights based on a compact electronic ballast. I've used the DigiMole 200 (which starts at $1995) on a couple of occasions, and I recently tested the DigiMole 400 AC Pro Kit.
The kit consists of a DigiMole HMI 400 head, an 82926 400W (watt) electronic square wave AC ballast, barn doors, handle for the head, case, single and double scrims, diffuser frame, scrim bag, and a 16x22-inch Chimera Video Pro light bank with speed ring.
