Bombardier produces its 1000th DB double deck car. (News).(Bombardier Transportation )(Brief Article)

The rapidly growing importance of double-deck trains in Germany's regional and suburban markets in the past few years was recently underscored when Bombardier Transportation delivered its 1000th double-deck vehicle to Deutsche Bahn at Stuttgart.
Bombardier believes that such vehicles are now shaping the rail transportation in urban areas, having often contributed to the increase in ridership thanks to their comfort and large number of seats.
In addition to producing this 1000th car since 1993, Bombardier Transportation says its Gorlitz site, Germany is proclaiming a number of achievements, not least of all the fact that it has now manufactured 5,800 double-deck cars.
