Kodak builds order picking expert system
What area do warehousing professionals target for significant quality and productivity improvements in the 1990s? "Order picking systems," says Ed Frazelle, president, International Material Management Society (IMMS).
Speaking at the recent Material Handling Focus 89, sponsored jointly by the Material Handling Research Center and IMMS, Frazelle pointed out that the current push to improve order picking performance means shorter lead times, higher order accuracy, and an ability to handle more variety in the warehouse.
