ADC technologies - who uses them and why. (automatic data collection)

"We tried it and we liked it," is the message from managers who use bar codes, radio frequency data collection (RFDC), and related automatic data collection (ADC) technologies in their operations.

Although that sentiment has long been accepted by many as true, an exclusive survey conducted by Modern Materials Handling and the industry trade group AIM USA is the first to document that fact.

The results of the survey of 8,000 managers at industrial locations clearly shows that ADC has added a new dimension of control to their operations. That control extends from tracking inventory to scheduling people and machines to managing equipment functions.
