Francois Soulard was awarded the first Ph.D. in geography at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This monograph is his dissertation, published as part of the Young Scholars Dissertation Awards series by the Chinese University Press. The book analyzes the industrial restructuring that took place in the Zhujiang Delta when Hong Kong's manufacturing industries expanded into the Chinese mainland to take advantage of economic reforms. It also examines the extent of regional integration of production.
