Political scientists and former American Political Science Assn Pres Henry Jones Ford chronicled the evolution of American politics in his book 'The Rise and Growth of American Politics.' The book was the first to examine in great detail the nature of party politics and its relation to governmental structure as well as the crucial role played by presidents in the shaping of national politics. Ford's interest in politics and government was rooted in his career as academic, government official and newsman.
