Americans are hardly the only ones gripped by dinomania. In fact, it could be argued that Britain sparked the latest wave; after all, the BBC coproduced the wildly popular "Walking with Dinosaurs" documentary, and Britons were the first to see it last autumn. About 20 million fans tuned in for each half-hour segment. So far, the series has generated $17 million in revenue for the Beeb, and its worldwide tour is only just beginning. In Portugal, 50 percent of viewers tuned in; in Australia, 25 percent, making it second only to the American sitcom "Friends" in the ratings. And the series has been licensed to broadcasters in 30 other countries, including South Africa, Thailand, Russia, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
