Abstract
Ethnically and linguistically the Korku belong to the Munda, although they live far away from any other Munda group. Some of the Korku groups have been strongly influenced by their Hindu environment while others have been able to preserve their traditional customs, especially their language. One of these groups is the Potharia Korku who live on the southern side of the Vindhya Mountains in central India.
