Despite their reputation as one of the art world's most glamorous power couples, Tobias Meyer and Mark Fletcher turn out to be highly domesticated creatures. On a recent evening, the Viennese-born Meyer, Sotheby's worldwide head of contemporary art, appears at the door of his kitchen and seems to prick his cool Teutonic image by gingerly wielding a chocolate torte he's just baked, the follow-up to a perfect roast beef. Meanwhile, Fletcher, a private art consultant and Meyer's partner of eight years, engages playfully with Labradors Virgil and Beatrice while pouring an excellent Bordeaux.
