Few fashion items suitable for a three-year-old are equally appropriate for a woman over 30. But somehow, maryjanes, with their distinctive little strap, manage to bridge the decades-long divide. Undoubtedly, the secret of the iconic shoe lies in its inherent youthful vibe, which this season is being played to plucky effect in patent-leather peep-toes from Christian Louboutin, multibanded flats from Chloe and sky-high stilettos from Miu Miu. It's a maryjane moment--the biggest in a while--with designers from Giuseppe Zanotti to Moschino also getting in on the action.
