SPD (suspended particle device) technology, developed by Research Frontiers Inc., lets users control the degree of tint on their windows and regulate sunlight stream into the home. SPD-treated windows and skylights reduce glare, provide protection from ultraviolet rays and aid home security while lowering or regulating heating and cooling costs.
The "smart" windows are controlled electronically, using AC voltage or battery power. SPD film can be ordered alone or pre-applied on glass or plastic. Visit www.smartglass.com for details.
