Food Marketing Experts Offer 10 Seasonal Merchandising Concepts.

WITH THE EXCEPTION of Halloween, seasonal sales decreased or remained flat in 1999. Because of this, the candy industry must look for fresh seasonal merchandising concepts, according to Drs. Richard George and John Stanton from St. Joseph's University Department of Food Marketing.

In their All Candy Expo educational session, "Better Merchandising of Seasonal Candy Products," the professors offered 10 new merchandising opportunities:

* Recognize holidays other than the "Big 4," including ethnic and religious celebrations such as Black History Month, Passover, ...
