Professional Candy Buyer, November, 2000
NAPA. CA -- Product offerings will not be affected, claims Hasbro Inc., referring to its decision to slash the workforce at its Cap Candy/OddzOn, Inc. headquarters.
The downsizing is part of Hasbro's initiative to consolidate support functions into its Pawtucket, RI, headquarters by the first quarter of 2001.
Tom Prichard, Cap/OddzOn general manager, tells PROFESSIONAL CANDY BUYER the changes "should be absolutely seamless for the buyer," adding the company is returning to a dedicated candy sales force from a combined candy/toy sales force.
Hasbro is also closing toy facilities in Cincinnati and San Francisco. Combined, the closings will cut about five percent of the company's work force.
