NOVELTY POPS ARE THE REAL trendsetters in the lollipop sector, which continues to show overall strength as suppliers also look to new flavors, manufacturing styles and licensing to drive sales.

While traditional pops remain a tried and true delight, the novelty arena offers a fresh spin on an old favorite as consumer she come ever more discriminating and demanding. Novelty suckers offer consumers added value, whether they light-up, have secret compartments or include a "gross-out" factor, such as items resembling severed body parts.
