WHILE NOT EVERYONE agrees how fast or long it will last, most suppliers concur that organic candy is a growing niche that can't be ignored. Evidence mounts as consumers become increasingly accepting of organic foods, including candy, in traditional natural food stores, as well as specialty and mainstream markets.

Organic confection and snack sales in the U.S. grew from $107,364,599 to $135,646,206 during the 52-week period ending November 5, 2006, according to Spins, Inc., a research group that monitors natural product industry sales.
