KRAFT FOODS, INC. introduces Planters Organic Nut Mix and Planters Organic Cashews in six-ounce reclosable bags.
The USDA 100 percent-certified organic nuts are said to provide five essential minerals. Each serving contains 170 calories and 13 to 14 grams of fat. They ship in 12-ct cases and have a SRP of $5.49.
Reports indicate Kraft wants the organic SKUs to help differentiate Planters, the top brand in the $1.4 billion snack nut segment with 35.3 percent share, from private label, which holds the number two position with 30.4 percent for 2006, according to IRI.
