Dow: STRANDFOAM is unlike any other foam packaging Dow's Packaging & Industrial Foams group introduced its new STRANDFOAM [TM] packaging at last year's Pack Expo held in Chicago.
Composed of thousands of individual expanded foam strands fused together into a continuous foam plank, STRANDFOAM polyolefin foam looks and performs, the company says, "unlike any foamed plastic packaging material you've seen before."
STRANDFOAM combines many of the properties found in Dow's ETHAFOAM [TM] polyethylene foam-- including strength, durability, predictable performance, and close-cell structure--with urethane's ability to protect delicate surfaces and cushion lighter loads. Yet it cushions with considerably greater efficiency, Dow adds, than urethane foam....
