The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Justice Department are gearing up to enforce a new and broad federal criminal law against trade secret theft and other forms of industrial espionage. As companies become aware of the new sanctions and tighten security, purchasing departments may become more involved in the fight against these economic crimes, industry security experts say.
