Fleet buyers can expect to buy cleaner-running vehicles over the next few years. The reason: Uncle Sam wants you to. The Environmental Protection Agency is currently working with automakers and states to hash out a plan to churn out more low-emissions vehicles. The nation's environmental watchdog says it will take an active role in drafting the final rules for the National Low Emission Vehicle (NLEV) program which aims to cut pollution at a faster rate than present law requires.
