Toyota and General Motors have reached a five-year agreement to develop cars and trucks powered by fuel cells and other environmentally friendly alternative fuel technologies. The venture will involve research and development of electric, hybrid electric, and fuel-cell technology. Hybrid electric vehicles typically combine electric motors with other power systems.
