PRICE INCREASES.(Brief Article)

Effective July 28, Dow Chemical increased off-list prices of liquid chlorine by $40/ton, not to exceed a current list price of $255/ton, fob Freeport, Texas, or Plaquemine, La., buyer absorbs freight. Effective August 10, Dow Chemical increased off-list selling prices for all grades of caustic soda by $25/dry short ton. This was followed by another increase of $35/short ton, effective immediately or as contracts permit. Effective September 1, Dow increased off-list price of ethylene glycol (antifreeze grade) by 4¢/lb for all North American customers.
Effective August 19, Sterling Pulp Chemicals boosted the price of sodium chlorate by $20/ton in the U.S., and $CAN30/tonne in Canada.
