MasterCard, Visa tout cost-saving benefits of one card.
Purchasing, December, 1999
Corporate purchasing managers should carefully weigh the benefits of introducing a one-card program in place of existing multiple commercial card programs (procurement, T&E), according to results of a new survey by Visa U.S.A.
The survey finds that while one-card programs have existed for a number of years, adoption of the product has been limited. Eight percent of respondents, from a variety of industries and company sizes, report use of one-card programs, while 36% are not interested in a program--even if it meets all their business requirements. Some obstacles to usage are: administration, liability, transaction accounting, and tax compliance. The study was conducted by Hackett Benchmarkingsolutions, the research arm of AnswerThink.
