Gartner Group.(survey about technology budgets)(Brief Article)

Results of a new Gartner Group survey show Global 2000 corporations won't be slashing technology budgets this year--despite the economic slowdown, (In fact, buying tabs for PCs, servers, peripherals, software, etc. will be 13% higher in 2001.) However, survey respondents expect technology purchasing teams to take a more rigorous approach to the supplier-selection process: They want the teams to put more emphasis on finding the optimum supplier, one with capability to best meet clearly defined requirements of end users. Spending wisely on technology, Gartner analysts say, is "the weapon of choice in carving a competitive advantage in today's global business environment."
