DuPont eyes China as cost reduction goal grows. (Strategic Sourcing).(sourcing initiatives)(Brief Article)

DuPont is launching major sourcing initiatives as part of one of the largest restructurings in corporate history, executives said at a recent global media briefing observing DuPont's 200th anniversary.
About $50 billion in businesses have been divested and the huge Textiles & Interiors group will be spun out as a separate organization by Jan. 1, said CEO Chad Holliday. Overall corporate revenues are down significantly, while profits are up. The goal is a 10% per year gain in earnings per share growth. DuPont will grow around five platforms: Electronics and Communication Technologies, Agriculture & Nutrition, Safety & Protection, Performance Materials, and Coatings & Color Technologies.
