Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.(Metals Chips)(Brief Article)

Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Wheeling, W.Va., said its new ladle-metallurgy furnace at the company's Mingo Junction, Ohio, plant began processing test heats early in October. The furnace is using molten steel from the company's basic oxygen furnace, since the company's new electric-arc furnace won't begin production until later in the fourth quarter.
