* Comerica Bank's annual survey says 20.6 weeks of median family income was needed to buy an average-priced new vehicle during the fourth quarter of last year. In the year-prior quarter, an average-priced vehicle took 20.8 weeks of income, the Detroit-based bank said. The average vehicle's total cost stood at $28,127 during the fourth quarter, which includes finance charges.

That's a 2% increase from last year.
