Consumer electronics giant Sony is more than halfway through a three-year restructuring plan in which it aims to reduce fixed costs by $3.18 billion by rationalizing production, streamlining procurement and cutting jobs. Texas-based energy firm TXLI Corp. began phase two of its restructuring and operational improvement program with the implementation of the TXU Operating System, strategic sourcing, and other initiatives to achieve operational excellence and cost leadership.
