* Intel has launched its dual-core Pentium D processor for desktop personal computers, which allows PCs to handle multiple tasks more effectively. The company forecasts that shipments of multicore-type processors will account for 85% of the processors it supplies for servers by the end of 2006, rising to 100% by the end of 2007.
