Staff Hopefully not the wave of the future Regarding "IBM moves purchasing headquarters to China (Purchasing , June 15, 2006, p. 34): Is this just another loss of jobs to the lower-cost Orient? The purchasing profession is about creating partnerships with suppliers, not about "where can I go to get the absolute lowest cost?" I hope this is not a wave of the future, like the outsourcing of after-service customer-care phone centers.
