Chemical distributor Univar has outsourced its inbound bulk logistics processes to Odyssey Logistics and Technology Corp. Univar created a cross-functional inbound transportation team to review internal and external options. Odyssey will deploy its transportation management technology to allow Univar to centralize, standardize and automate all inbound activity for greater efficiency and increased productivity.
Westlake Chemical Corp. has agreed to buy the polyethylene unit and ethylene pipeline of Eastman Chemical Co. for $225 million. The deal will double Westlake's capacity for polyethylene by adding the 1,125 lbs of annual capacity.
