New viewer promotes collaboration.(OriginLab Corp.'s Origin Viewer)(Brief article)

Researchers who use Origin scientific graphing and analysis software from OriginLab, Northampton, Mass., have a new tool to share their data with their colleagues around the world: the Origin Viewer. A free application, the Viewer allows anyone without Origin to be able to view all files stored within an Origin project file (OPJ). "The Origin Viewer will facilitate collaboration within the R&D community," says Joe Przechocki, project marketing manager at OriginLab.

The OPJ provides a flexible hierarchical format for storing raw and processed data, analysis results, graphs, layout pages, and notes, all in a single file within Origin. The user can create multiple-level folder structures within the OPJ to organize the data. The Origin viewer allows anyone to...
