"Growth doesn't just happen; you make it happen through investment," says Paul Otellini, Intel's president and chief executive officer. "We are well on our way to our third year in a row of double-digit revenue growth as a result of the investments we have made, even during lean times."

Otellini's view of investment and growth has been shaped by 31 years of Intel experience. He became the company's fifth CEO in May 2005, taking the reins from Craig Barrett, who is now Intel's chairman. Otellini previously served as Intel's president and chief operating officer since 2002, the year he was elected to Intel's Board of Directors.
