To promote Happy Hour at its year-old River Edge Cafe, the Hyatt Regency Chicago in june mixed what is likely the world's largest margarita.
The hotel poured 9,000 ounces of tequila, 27,000 ounces of mix, 4 tons of ice and four cases of triple sec into a cement mixer to create a 350-gallon margarita, says Michael Plutino, assistant director of food and beverage. The hotel is awaiting confirmation from The Guinness Book of World Records that its margarita. has succeeded the current record holder-a 327-gallon pina colada-as the world's largest cocktail.
