THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY (DOE) and Owens Corning, in partnership with TIME for Kids, introduces the EnergySmart Schools Activity Kit for teachers and students. The national educational program helps teach American students how they can use energy more efficiently at home and at school.
The kit gives teachers and Grades 4-6 students the information and tools they need to make learning about energy efficiency fun and interesting. When they do the home energy quiz, students can assess their home's energy efficiency level. Students can also assess the energy use in their classrooms. Three hands-on experiments illustrate the benefits of energy-efficient practices and demonstrate how energy affects the environment.
