In some industries, packaging ranks somewhere down the list of a retailer's concerns. No one is too worried about the box a computer comes in, for example. Clearly, though, a specialty coffee retailer's choice of bean packaging can have a significant impact on sales, especially if the choice of packaging means that air or moisture touches the beans, damaging their taste.
