Terra Breads is an artisan bakery, and the owners pride themselves on using organic and environmentally friendly products to keep their store clean.
Retail manager Tara Batho says the store has found an organic espresso machine cleaner, as unlikely as that may seem.
"It seems bizarre to have an organic chemical," she says. "But if it's more biodegradable and better for the water system, it's worth it for us."
The product, made by Cafetto Evo, in New Zealand, is certified organic by the United States Department of Agriculture's strict standards.
Batho says the product is a key ally that helps her keep the espresso machine running. Every night the employees backflush the machine with Cafetto Evo, which they buy from their roaster....
