Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund has bought the North American sodium hydrosulphite (SHS) operations and assets of Clariant International for US$62 million. It is a move that significantly expands Chemtrade's existing sulphur clean-up operations. The former Clariant business is the leading North American producer of SHS, which is used as a bleaching agent in the production of pulp and paper and textiles.
