The University of Michigan has created a new executive education course that looks at both supply chain design and execution. "Supply Chain Management: Design and Execution for Global Markets" will discuss how to design an effective logistics network as well as how to design products to improve supply chain performance. The course also will outline a framework for effective implementation of inventory control, distribution, and logistics management methods. Participants will study inventory management and risk pooling in a supply chain. They will learn how to integrate their supply chain to counteract the bullwhip effect and how to use information to replace inventory.
