Microsoft creates RFID Council.(Trend Lines)(radio frequency identification equipment)

As RFID adoption accelerates, Microsoft Corp. is moving to establish itself at the front of the technology leadership line. The software giant has formed an industry group called the RFID Council. The group's mission is to study RFID requirements and seek solutions that make it easier to track and ship merchandise.
Council partners include Accenture, GlobeRanger. 3M's HighJump Software, Intermec Technologies, Manhattan Associates, Metro Croup, and Provia Software. Microsoft also announced it has joined EPCglobal, the standards organization for electronic product codes, including RFID.
