HAVE YOU SURVIVED YOUR MOVE UPDATE REQUIREMENT? Since July 1, mailers intending to qualify for First-Class presort or automation rates have been expected to meet a new United States Postal Service Move Update requirement. The Move Update requirement is designed to reduce USPS First-Class forwarding costs, estimated in excess of $1 billion a year, by ensuring that both the street address on a mailpiece is correct and that the addressee (be it an individual or a business) is in fact at the specified address.
