Asian Americans: a fast-growing minority group with disposable income to buy direct.(Market Focus)

By the year 2050, white Americans will comprise only 53 percent of the total U.S. population. The fastest growing minority groups, Asian Americans currently represent 4 percent of the total population. However, this segment is projected to grow 420 percent and reach 30 million by 2050, according to recent estimates by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census.

Asian Americans are not a homogeneous group. The population is made up of many nationalities, including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, South Asian and Filipino. The largest of these groups is Chinese, followed by Japanese.
