Miller's textbook Skyscrapers Hide the Heavens: A history of Indian-White Relations in Canada (Toronto, 1989; 2nd Ed. 1991), Sweet Promises is the latest of half a dozen readers on Canadian Indian-Anglo relations. Indeed, with its twenty-five previously published essays, Miller's reader is quite comprehensive, and as one might expect from a historian, emphasizes the historical perspectives of contact relations in Canada.
