This deceptively simple book by an Ojibway/Obawa storyteller features 18 traditional tales remembered from his childhood. Most are explanatory legends ("Turtle Gets a Shell," "The Rainbow Legends," "The First Storyteller," and others); several focus on the consequences of arrogance, boastfulness, or greed ("The Eagle Who Flew Too High," "The Loon Legens," and "The Red Headed Woodpecker").
