The amazingly detailed records of the Moravian Archives provide one of the most important sources of information about the Native American peoples of the upper Middle Atlantic region and their migrations after 1742. Olmstead draws on these accounts to describe the life of the Moravian missionary David Zeisberger and his work with the Munsee and other Native converts at the Goshen Mission in the Muskingum Valley (now Ohio).
