Much more than solely a reader, William Bright's book is an adventure into the Coyote trickster's existence. In his preface, Bright illuminates Coyote's origins, his status as a mythic prototype who lived before homo sapiens, and the characteristics that make him uniquely Coyote. Here he provides a cursory comparison between Coyote and animal characters found in European literary traditions.
