Sandra Sunrising Osawa, a Native American filmmaker, has produced and directed over 40 videos, some of which have been shown on commercial television and PBS. She received the Native American Filmmaker of the Year award in 1996 and was nominated for an ACE award. Her latest film, Part I of Usual and Accustomed Places, premiered at the Sundance Festival in 1997.
For over twenty years, Sandra Sunrising Osawa has been making films as an independent producer and director. Her films focus on individuals to illuminate both the problems and strengths of Native communities.
